Profound was one of the first European bands that followed in the slipstream of the ‘87/’88 straight edge revival. Profound started in 1988 as a 5 piece with Jos on 2nd guitar, so basically all the Lärm guys minus their singer plus Michiel and Burt. With that line-up Profound recorded the ‘Dutch Wolfpack’ demo. Jos would leave the band after quiting straight edge and Profound turned into a four piece band. Profound recorded the Integrity 7" in 1989 which was released the same year on Anti-Schelski Records. (*) Before Profound switched the name to ManLiftingBanner Big joined the band and played a show still under the name Profound.
(*) later pressings were released under Crucial Response Records when Peter decided to change the name of the label to Crucial Response Records
